Now that my time at university is nearly over, I thought it would be a good time to try and put together a short demo or showreel of some of my work in broadcast journalism. (Well, it was that or have an existential crisis and panic about having to go out into the real world and get a proper job! So this is probably the better option to go with.)
I tried to edit together a variety of different broadcasting bits and pieces into the four and a half minute demo, to show off some of the different things I’ve done over the last few years. The clips are all from the university radio station, Pure FM as well as BBC Radio Jersey and ITV Channel (as even though it’s from the telly, it was the most recent recording of me reading a bulletin on air).
The clips were chosen to try and be representative of some of the work I’ve done over the last few years:
- a ‘hard news’ package from Pure FM,
- a more stylised radio advert I produced and voiced for a competition,
- a more creative package on the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery
- and an ITV News lunchtime bulletin.
